About This Trek
Rama Lake sits just above Rama Meadows in the Astore Valley, a short and gentle walk from the road-head that makes it one of the most accessible alpine lakes in Gilgit-Baltistan. The lake mirrors pine forest on its banks and, on a clear day, the sheer bulk of Nanga Parbat behind it.
Because the trail is short and largely flat, this is a favourite for families and first-time trekkers who want a genuine mountain experience without a demanding hike. It pairs naturally with a Fairy Meadows or Deosai trip since Astore sits between both.

Day-by-Day Itinerary
A jeep takes us from Astore town up to Rama Meadows, followed by a 30–40 minute walk through pine forest to the lake. Groups can return to Astore the same evening or camp overnight at the meadow for a quieter, cooler night in the mountains.
