“We found Union Treks on TripAdvisor and contacted Ahmad on WhatsApp. From that first message he was warm, professional and reassuring. The Hunza tour exceeded every expectation we had. Ahmad's local knowledge is extraordinary — he took us to viewpoints and guesthouses that no guidebook mentions. The food was excellent, the vehicle was comfortable and our guide spoke perfect English. We have already recommended Union Treks to six friends.”
“Ten days through the Karakoram and I cannot find a single thing to criticise. Ahmad planned every detail perfectly. Attabad Lake at sunrise, Khunjerab Pass with snow in July, Deosai at wildflower peak — all timed exactly right. He has an instinct for what travellers actually want to experience rather than just ticking boxes. This is the standard all Pakistan tour operators should be held to.”
“I have trekked in Nepal, Peru and Patagonia. Fairy Meadows is in the top three experiences of my life. The jeep track alone is worth the trip. Ahmad arranged everything seamlessly — the guesthouse was basic but perfectly comfortable, the food was surprisingly good and our guide knew every wildflower and bird by name. Nanga Parbat at dawn is something I will never forget.”
“As a Pakistani-British traveller I was nervous about going back to Pakistan after many years away. Ahmad made the entire experience feel completely safe and wonderfully familiar. Skardu was jaw-dropping — the lakes, the fort, the people. Our driver was phenomenal on the mountain roads. The whole trip felt personal and carefully thought through. I am going back next year for Deosai.”
“Saiful Mulook was everything I had seen in photos and more. Ahmad handled a last-minute weather change with complete calm and professionalism — we had to adjust the Babusar Top day and he reorganised everything overnight without any fuss. That kind of flexibility is rare. The tour felt personal rather than packaged. Would book again without hesitation.”
“Ahmad took us to the Kalash Valleys and it was the most culturally rich trip I have taken inside Pakistan. The timing with the Kalash festival was perfect — Ahmad knew the dates and planned around them specifically. Our guide in Bumburet was from the Kalash community himself which made the experience completely authentic. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to go beyond the usual Hunza-Skardu circuit.”
“The most demanding and most rewarding thing I have ever done. Ahmad and the team were professional throughout — the guide was experienced on the Baltoro and kept the whole group safe and moving. Concordia genuinely stopped me in my tracks. I stood there for an hour just looking. The logistics were flawless for such a remote expedition. If you are considering K2 Base Camp, Union Treks is the operator to use.”
“I travelled alone as a woman and felt completely safe throughout. Ahmad was attentive without being overbearing and the female-friendly guesthouses he chose were excellent. The Karakoram Highway is even more beautiful than the photographs suggest. My only regret is not staying longer. Pakistan is one of the most underrated travel destinations in the world and Union Treks showed me the very best of it.”
“Travelled with my wife and three children. Ahmad customised the entire itinerary around our pace and the children's energy levels. Mahodand Lake was the highlight — the kids still talk about it. The accommodation was clean and comfortable throughout. Ahmad thought of things before we had to ask — extra snacks for the kids, an earlier start to avoid the crowds at Kalam. A genuinely thoughtful operator.”
“A wildlife photographer and I have been to the Serengeti, Borneo and the Amazon. Deosai is different from all of them — quieter, more austere, more remote. We saw two Himalayan brown bears at close range from the vehicle. The wildflowers were at absolute peak. Ahmad timed everything perfectly. The camping on Deosai overnight was one of the best experiences of my professional career.”
“I had been trying to visit Neelum Valley for years. Ahmad made it effortless. The drive along the river from Muzaffarabad to Keran is one of the most beautiful in Pakistan. Arang Kel was worth every step of the walk. Ahmad recommended the perfect guesthouse right on the river — the sound of the water at night was extraordinary. Professional, attentive and genuinely passionate about Pakistan.”
“Most people told me Balochistan was impossible for a foreign tourist. Ahmad made it straightforward, safe and completely wonderful. The Makran Coast is one of the most dramatic coastlines I have seen anywhere. Princess of Hope, Kund Malir Beach, the mud volcanoes — all completely unlike anything else in South Asia. Ahmad knew exactly which routes were smooth, which roads needed the 4x4 and which guesthouses had the best food.”
