About This Tour

Lahore is Pakistan's cultural capital in every meaningful sense. It was the seat of Mughal power in South Asia for centuries, and the buildings they left behind — Badshahi Mosque, Lahore Fort, the Walled City's intricate bazaars, the Shalimar Gardens — represent some of the finest Mughal architecture anywhere in the world. Walking through the Walled City's narrow lanes, past workshops that have been making the same goods for 400 years, is a genuinely immersive step back into a history that most of the world does not know Pakistan holds.

But Lahore is not only historical. It is one of the most energetic, food-obsessed, culturally alive cities in all of Asia. The food streets of Gawalmandi and the old city are famous throughout Pakistan. The evening Wagah Border ceremony, where Pakistani and Indian soldiers perform an elaborate flag-lowering ritual on the joint border, is one of the most electric public events in the country — the crowd noise is genuinely deafening. As a city tour departing from and returning to Lahore itself, this is the easiest and most accessible package on our entire list.

Tour Highlights

🏅

Badshahi Mosque

One of the largest mosques in the world, built by the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb in 1671. The courtyard alone holds 100,000 worshippers.

🏛

Lahore Fort & Sheesh Mahal

A UNESCO World Heritage Site containing 21 notable monuments spanning nearly a millennium of South Asian history including the famous Mirror Palace.

🗻

Walled City & Old Bazaars

The original city of Lahore, unchanged in layout since the Mughal era. Markets for fabrics, spices, brass, jewellery and street food line the ancient lanes.

🌿

Shalimar Gardens

A UNESCO-listed Mughal garden built by Emperor Shah Jahan in 1641 — three terraced levels of fountains, pavilions and ancient trees.

🏰

Wagah Border Ceremony

The famous daily flag-lowering ceremony at the Pakistan-India border, performed by soldiers of both nations with extraordinary drama and crowd participation.

🍴

Food Street & Gawalmandi

Lahore's legendary food scene centres on these two areas. Nihari, paye, seekh kebab, kulfi and dozens of other dishes available until 3am.
