A challenging 5-day trek from Barah village ending in a scramble to one of the Karakoram's most panoramic viewpoints.
Starting from Barah village near Skardu, this trek climbs through high pasture to Barah Broq camp before a final scramble to Moses Peak at 5,300m. The summit is one of the rare points in the Karakoram where both K2 and Nanga Parbat are visible in the same panorama.
Good fitness and some scrambling comfort are required for the final push to Moses Peak, but no technical climbing equipment. This is a serious trekking objective for travellers wanting a genuine high-altitude challenge without a full expedition.
One of very few viewpoints where both 8,000m peaks are visible at once.
A non-technical but demanding scramble to the 5,300m summit.
A quiet Balti village and the trailhead for the route.
Alpine grazing meadows used as camps on the way up.
360-degree views across the wider Karakoram and Himalayan ranges.
One of the least-visited high-altitude viewpoints in the Skardu region.
Arrival in Skardu followed by a jeep transfer to Barah village, the starting point of the trek.
The trail climbs steadily through forest and then open pasture, gaining significant altitude toward the first high camp.
We continue climbing to Barah Broq camp, the final camp before the Moses Peak push, with acclimatisation time in the afternoon.
An early start for the scramble to Moses Peak (5,300m), with K2 and Nanga Parbat both visible from the top, before descending back to the pasture camp.
A full descent day brings us back to Barah village and onward by jeep to Skardu, where the tour concludes.
